Photographs by Michael Charters

The Upper Fish Creek Trail has its beginning at a parking area along Forest Road 1N05, 7.4 miles from the signed entrance road to Heart Bar Campground on SR38 about five miles east of Barton Flats, and intersecting a junction with the upper end of the Fish Creek/ Aspen Grove Trail in 0.69 miles, passing Fish Creek Meadows, and reaching Fish Creek Saddle 5 miles from the start and Mine Shaft Saddle 6 miles from the start. At that point, you are 3-1/2 miles from San Gorgonio summit. See Tom Chester's plant guide here.
