PALOMAR STATE PARK PAGE ONE |
Photographs by Michael Charters |
This is a slightly different kind of photo gallery inasmuch as it was created in 2018 but is made up of photos from several trips to the Palomar State Park area in July 2003, July 2005, two visits in June 2006, and June 2007. Palomar State Park is located on the western side of Palomar Mountain in the Peninsular Ranges of northern part of San Diego County. Much of the park is covered by coniferous forests of pine, fir and cedar with scattered areas of meadow and is one of the few places in Southern California that has somewhat of a Sierra Nevadan atmosphere. This is one of the areas that I feel may deserve some more visits this year. Some of the identifications may be suspect since I was still in the process of learning many species, so any corrections will be appreciated. An asterisk next to the common name indicates a non-native species. |
