MT. LOWE ROAD AND SUNSET RIDGE TRAIL, SAN GABRIEL MOUNTAINS MAY 2014 PAGE ONE |
Photographs by Michael Charters |
Having done the upper part of the Mt. Lowe Road from Eaton Saddle earlier in the month, I decided to follow that up with a quick hike up the lower section of the road as far as the spur over to Echo Mountain and then back down the Sunset Ridge Trail. From the Sunset Ridge Trail you can access the trail that used to be open from Millard Campground to Dawn Mine and Tom Sloan Saddle, the trailhead for which at the campground has been closed since the Station Fire and for some reason has not been reopened. An asterisk next to the common name indicates a non-native taxon. |
