LOWER MT. WILSON TRAIL, SAN GABRIEL MOUNTAINS SPRING 2008 PRE-FIRE PAGE ONE |
Photographs by Michael Charters |
Little did we know in the early spring of 2008 that our local mountains would soon be overrun by the fast-moving flames of the Sierra Madre fire. The trail that I had grown so familiar with on dozens of hikes became almost unrecognizable. Fortunately I had made several visits during the spring and had documented the flora to a large extent before the fire. An asterisk next to the common name is for a non-native species. And for some pictues of the trail after the fire, see here. |
